Making Indigenous Languages Visible The Métis Women’s Circle has been awarded a grant from the Government of Canada Department of Canadian Heritage to develop a substantial project about the culture of indigenous languages. Working with 10 to 15 dedicated Indigenous students, the Metis Women’s Circle will provide a rich and unique opportunity to explore Indigenous languages in experiential ways such as:
- learning from language speakers and culture carriers
- joining small arts & language workshops custom designed for the students
- engaging in tours, visits, and independent learning opportunities
- having fun with language games and winning prizes
- making their own Indigenous language visible
