Anishnaabe Bingo For All Seasons was a language project developed by the Metis Women’s Circle with funding from Canadian Heritage, the Government of Canada.
Run as a weekly Bingo event, the project used specially designed cards to demonstrate a selection of land-based Oji-Cree words. These were sorted by season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn with each season’s cards being played for 4 weeks.
The Bingo nights took place from November 2017 to March 2018 at the Aboriginal Health Centre De dwa da deh nyes in Hamilton Ontario.
Participants of all ages won great prizes. Here are examples of the Bingo cards.
